Heated Sprayer parts washers
When I walked threw my friend's trans shop I saw a rig like this off in the corner.I am thinking the machine shop that did the work on my 383 has some sort of machine like this too.I was just surfing the net to find how much these cost and the thought of in business how many engines/parts,trannies you have to do to make the money back.It is kind of a rude awaking.Well for me to take it for granted that everyone has this stuff is wrong not to consider how much it costs. The link does however have some other things you guys might find interesting.

have one, i just paid off a snap-on that was alot of $$.but thats just the start of the money then there is buying the machine . there is soap and getting signed in with the D.E.Q and getting the bad stuff hauled away. you never make money cleaning parts so the machine is there to get work done in hope of covering the overhead of the machine two of the most money costing machines in the shop are the jet washer and hot tankLast edited by pat mccarthy; 09-25-2011 at 02:43 AM.

The soaps and solvents plus disposal costs are huge----its gotten to where I don't like to work on customers stuff cause they always bring them in with out draining them--get started and right away you have a big mess and bags of oil dry, slimey mop water---
I would rather use a core block that we get already baked and shot blasted---
Of course it will go thru the parts washer about 4 or 5 times as we work on it---the last time it gets taped off and painted while its still warm from the wash
I think our spray /wash was $8k+ new--we bought it second hand from manu that had reclaimed it from repo
