Did you try a search? Here's a recent thread that Falcon started and has been updating as he makes progress. Yours sounds like a similar project to his ....

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Sounds like a cool project! The frontends on these have good geometry and a nice ride. Relocate the upper shock mounts and throw on a disc brake conversion kit and you're in good shape. The stock front brakes are a serious pain in the butt to adjust.

I am just starting to get the doors re-aligned on my 50 Ply.wagon..........just a note to you 49.......check the hinge pins in the doors and if they have play in them, now's the time to remove old hinges and replace the hinge pins.

I got the hinges out of the car and found the pins are .375 diameter(3/8") and I actually ordered them through my local body shop supply place.

Nice! You did the whole framestub; I wish I had gone that route on my 48. That's some mighty fine looking fabrication you got there.

I did have help putting the front and rear in the car. I have a friend who is a fabricator and can TIG weld.

I will also say the Fatman front end has directions that say you measure up 17" from the center of the front body mount. Then you cut the old front end off and attach the new stub. Well the new stub is made for a 50 Ply cp, not a wagon. We only tacked the front stub and then measured again. We had only 1 degree of caster in the front end and so many shims in the A-arms that we had to put in longer bolts. So after calling Fatman and taking with them, we figured out they sent me the wrong top A-arm. We needed a 3/4" offset top A-arm. Sent the ones back and they sent me the right ones. Now we had 4-6 deg of caster to play with and then things went alittle smoother. But as everyone knows, this took another 3 weeks to get sorted out with sending things back and all.
Fatman worked with me and I have nothing but good things to say about their stuff and their people.

Looks great and sure cleans things up. I have a '42 and "if" I can ever get enough money together in one place I hope to do the Fatman stub as well. I have a 318 and an 8-3/4 posi collecting dust in a corner, so maybe it will happen someday soon. Keep the progress pictures coming and when it's off the jack stands and moving again under it's own power, let us know how it handles.Just Joe
A "skip" = a dumpster.... but he says it's proper english??? Oh.. Okay. Most of us can see the dating site pun, "matching" with an arsonist.. But a "SKIP? How is that a box? It must all be...
