1932 Roadster Trans Tunnel for C6
Guys, I have a 32 Ford Roadster that I'm installing a 427 FE and a C6 transmission, does anyone know of a replacement trans tunnel that will work with the C6 transmission. Any and all help is greatly needed and welcome.
Thanks in advance
Phil

I used a Direct Sheet Metal for my '31 with a C4. I suspect that you might have to call them for that size transmission though - also to match your firewall. I still had a fair amount of rework to fit the recessed Brookville firewall Direct Sheet Metal Catalog/Price List.
Also Bitchn' has some real decent firewalls and floor parts.
Then, of course, you can roll a piece of 16-20 ga cold roll around some large diameter pipe, barrel, cut at an angle, add some flanges and you have the same for lots less moneyDave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug

Is your roadster body metal or glass? If you're dealing with glass then forming a new tunnel is pretty easy with poster board & glass mat.Roger

for fiberglass tunnels I cut the floor back for clearance and then put a piece of the foam rubber packing that the Pro Chargers superchargers come packed in--it is smooth on one side and kinda egg crate on the other---this will form about 1 1/4 from the trans--put waxed freezer paper over the top of that and start laying up fiberglass cloth and mat---can also use kevlar/carbonfiber if you want---end result, you have a floorpan with clearance that you can bond down as you build it or you can overlap the floor edges and have a screw down that fits perfectly with a consistant 1 1/4 clearance

Just a note on Bitchin' Products, apparently the owner has retired. He's sold some of his cast aluminum product tooling and someone else will be producing those. The sheet metal stuff is either done or in limbo right now. There might be some stocking dealers with existing inventory available for now.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
