I wouldn't touch a thing these guys sold - especially something as complicated as an a/c can be. For the few bucks you save today, for sure wont be a positive when they are gone. Vintage Air only.
Of course that's an opininion of mine, but this outfit might be "gone" as they were "unavailable" a year agoDave W

I'd stick with Vintage Air. Their tech group is very good, and their stock of fittings is extensive when you get ready to pipe it up. I found that the prices of fittings and hose, even including shipping, was about equal to local prices, but my local guys could not get some of the special fittings that VA carries. I bought hose & fittings from VA, fabbed them up and marked them for alignment, and my local NAPA guys crimped them for me.Roger

Is Jack's standard AC a Southern package? Knowing him he may have bought a bunch of their units at deep discount, knowing that he'll use them anytime someone selects the AC option on their build. I would hope his guys know how to hang and hook up a VA package, too. If you're going to "veer off the option sheet" you might want to review exactly what you want in the way of controls and vents, too. There're several options with VA, and I would recommend that you get the "defrost" option, too. A closed coupe will fog up in a heartbeat, at least it will here in the heartland weather.Roger

Defrost???? In Kansas???
On the 32 in the pics in my gallery--(no pics of the dash & A/c) since the people that I built the car for were fairly small--I buiuld an addition to the dash of 3 inches which gave more room for the a/c unit and also a steel tube below the windshield to duct & distribute the air for defrost---only catch was that I really needed another 1/2 inch for the elrctronic controller to clear the back of the far right guage--needed elrctronic controller because no vacume handy on this Fuel injected 540.

I have not heard good things about Southern stuff, especially their customer service. A friend of mine got a unit from HotRod Air and had no problems. But, like others have stated, I would advise sticking with Vintage Air as well

I bought a unit from HotRod Air 3 or 4 years ago because they got good reviews at the time, the dimensions of their unit fit my application better and the price was a little bit cheaper than Vintage Air. I still don't have the car on the road yet and I just learned HotRod Air has bit the dirt with the economy but hopefully, everything will go together fine and the unit will work properly.
