? 91 sbc crate.
I have a 84 c-10 that had a 91 crate engine installed . The original engine was a 305 and the crate is a 350 , 76 cc heads. I am also planning on a rebuild by the end of the year. I am running the stock exhaust pipes thru a cat and stock muffler. I am also running a turbo 350 and 31" tall tires. I am looking for increased fuel economy and not horse power, all though a little horsepower wont hurt. I would like to keep every thing as "stock" as possible since this a daily driver.
Since I am planning a rebuild would it be a good idea to install vortec heads while keeping everything as "stock" as possible?
Or, since fuel economy is my main goal rebuild what i have and use a stock or RV cam? Aluminum intake?Last edited by BigTruckDriver; 01-13-2012 at 07:25 PM.

Can you see the head casting number thru the oil fill cap in the valve cover let us know what heads you have now on the 350, if they are the swirl port heads they will give you excellent low and mid range torgue up to 45-4800 rpm then they fall off... which is where you will be for the most part, the vortec will do the same except you can build on them for higher rpm gains, the swirl ports casting # is 10110810....Toys

This is the numbers off of the heads ,33417369. They have 'Hecho en Mexico' cast into the rocker valley. The only info that I can find is that they are 90-up GM Goodwrench crate heads, 76cc chambers, 1.94/1.6 valves. ThanksFriends dont let friends drive fords!
