looking for tips for a 350 chev small block
i want to build a 350 with high compression pistons a decent cam, with aluminum heads. I don't want to break the bank in doing so. I was hoping to get some info from someone with experience on configuring what parts I should be using

Maybe you could provide some more details about the vehicle it is going into too.

Well that's a start, now how about intended use (street/race/both?), transmission type, rear end ratio and tire size. High compression means different things to different people what fuel type are you planning on using, pump gas, race gas, E85? Are you planning on power adders (blower/turbo charger, NOS etc). What type of induction are you planning, injection or carburated?
"I don't want ot break the bank" is knod of vauge.....what kind of budget are you realistically looking at?

I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

The car will be used on the street, Its a friends car and we are doing a barter. He is doing some excavater work on my property and I will put together a engine for him. We put a value of the work around 5 grand. He will be using this car on the odd weekend and mostly just crusin around, but he would like it to be able to smoke the tires every once in a while. It will be pump gas. I asked him about nitrous or a blower and wasn't interested. He has a carburated, more or less stock engine in the car now, because after the car mods and paint the budget was depleted
Ditto on the model kits! My best were lost when the Hobby Shop burned under suspicious circumstances....
How did you get hooked on cars?
