I'd do some checking into the company that made that lift. I never heard of Globe. I have seen some awful pics of brand X lifts that have failed with cars on them.

We had them when I worked at Reynolds Metals they make a Very heavy duty hoist. Parts are avaliable everywhere. We picked up fork trucks 30/40K with some of them. If its in good shape thats a good price.

    Gary,
With all due respect, the discussion from your last trip down this road still seems to apply - Craigslist Mohawk two poster lift
But then, you did not ask anything, so maybe you're just letting us know you're still shopping?

Thanks guys on the info on the brand name. The only thing I have that might be close to the limit of the lift would be the RV.

Gezz Roger..........I might be wrong, but doesn't everyone have reoccurring talking points on the same topic??.This thread as long I guess have to explain myself did include a different brand name lift that the posts helped me.

    Did I do something wrong??.

Not at all, Gary. It's just that you did not ask anything, just posted a link to another used lift, and to me it seemed to be more of the same. No problem to me, just wondered if you had questions, and was just trying to "connect the dots" to your earlier post, since you started a new thread.

A apart of the costs of this is being able to find a local installer and how much that will cost.A brief search on line I didn't find a local guy.I heard a rumor about a guy that I have to check out. Then go look at the lift and get measurements to see how it would fit in the shop and where. The ceiling lights being taking into account along with the roll up door.Yeah I want it to be for long term use on the Astro project where it won't be able to be moved easily and where it is ready available for possible money paying easy jobs. That's going to take some planning. Also where it isn't in the way for floor type jobs that the lift isn't in use or a car is on it and still have enough floor space for a second job or project.

As for the brand, Globe is, or was (been away from it a bunch of years myself) a well known lift company, way back to the in ground days of yore. Unless they were taken over (as happens) by some flakey outfit the piece is probably commercial grade built up to a standard instead of down to a price. Though it might be worthwhile to check if they're still in business for spare parts.
