    Will a 366 flywheel work on a 454?

I have a tired 366 Chevy big block in one of my trucks. I have a fresh rebuilt 454 out of a motor home. I have heard that a 366 and 454 flywheel have the same weights on the flywheel and are inter changeable but no one I talk to is sure 100%. Lots of experience with 427's and 454's but not a lot with a 366. Trying to get out of buying a new flywheel.

No they are Not who ever told you that is way Wrong ..... the 454 is external all other BBC366.396.402.427. are internal. a 366 is a 10.200 tall deck block 427 with a very small bore and both are internal balanced

NAPA shows the 454 flexplate, jobber @ $49.87 and the flywheel @ $154.02.

Even better because I have a rebuilt 427 tall deck truck engine. Because of the false info given to me that the 366 was externally balanced with the same flywheel as the 454 I thought I couldn't use it with the flywheel that is in the truck. Thanks a lot for the correct information.

The only other Chevy engine, that I'm aware of, that is externally balanced is the small block 400.
