Leaf spring question
I have a 37 Lasalle, not original underneath at all! It has a chevy rear with leaf springs. I have a bad spring and want to replace them both. I have no idea what springs are on the car, nor does the previous owner. I have the measurements and all that good stuff, but my problem is "where to buy"? Most sites I have found want to know what car they are off of, but I have no idea. Where would you guys recommend getting leaf springs knowing all I have are the measurements.? Thank you.

I would get the total weight of the car and % of weight on the rear, then measure the width of the spring, the distance between mounting brackets on the frame and the position of the pin hole on the bottom spring. With this info any spring house should be able to recommend the proper spring for the ride you require, soft, regular, hard, etc. They may also want the length of the shackles.

Find the nearest General Spring Company General Spring offers leaf springs, coil springs, lift kits, leveling kits , weigh the car if you can (they likely have wheel scales), and take it to them. They will custom build a set of springs for you based on your desired ride/carrying capacity criteria. They're generally very reasonable on pricing, too.Roger
