yep, true story. Last time it happened, my supervisor asked, me... by chance, do you have a 2 barrel intake for a 350?
" you were standing next to it last week. even had a carburetor on it...."
yes, sad but true..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

I’m lucky in that the place I have has a fair amount of storage space. When I bought the place it had an old 10X48 mobile that had been gutted and shelves built along both sides . Of course it didn’t take that long to fill it LOL. It’s where I store most of the misc left over stuff....suspension pieces, lights, seats, steering columns, radiators, brackets, shifters, grills, trim etc etc.
Then I have the driveline building where I keep my spare engines, transmissions, third members and parts until I find a project or new home for them.
As carburetors have always been a favorite for me those along with the carburator reference materials live on some shelves in my office.
When I pick up a project car it usually sits for at least a year in one of the back sheds while I collect parts and it’s turn to be built in the main shop. The parts for the project are stored in the car until it goes into the shop and then they are moved to the 3 3’X10’ shelves at the end of the garage until it’s time to install them on the car.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

I built the small shelves out of scrap I had around the shop and slanted them so the containers would slide to the back.As you can see I sure do like me some mac salad and coffee. The mac containers are a good size and clear so you can see what's in them.I got sick of buying pre-pack nuts and bolts over and over again because I didn't know what I had already. The costs of that when you start to add it up would amaze you.
I want to add a pc of plywood below the fab tools to hang my 7 " and 4 1/2 grinders and all the cut-off discs and associate tools. It will free up space in my tool box.I know it ant much right now,but a good start.I did this awhile ago,but I kept forgetting to take my camera to the shop.Good Bye

i cant afford taxes on any more space. only thing left for me to do is use trailers with wheels still on them. cant tax as a building that way. if i build a shed i cant put doors on it . getting crazy here in my county. the ta is a worthless little dweeb thats out to tax us off farm land. cheaper for me to throw it away than store it.

That's pathetic your own property, we have lost so many freedoms. I thank God everyday they will never be able to tax the air we breath. However the good thing about your storage .......... easy to move.I have two brains, one is lost and the other is out looking for it

Shine, I agree and sympathize, especially when you have a tax man who's out to get the property owners. It's a shame you can't vote him out of his air conditioned office!
Gary,
Your pole barn space is constructed like mine and lends itself to shelves between the support posts as you've done. However, I'd suggest that you install at least one intermediate support on those shelves or you will likely walk in to a bunch of stuff on the floor one day. They're already sagging under the load, and it will get worse over time, guaranteed.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
