    cruiseomatic to c4 conversion

Has anyboby attempted a conversion from a cruiseomatic to a C4? Was hoping to locate a kit with a driveshaft yoke and u-joint and maybe some clues on how to adapt the linkage. I also have to frabricate an adapter to move the mount as I can not move the crossmember

It would be helpful to know what kind of Ford you're talking about. If converting to C4, why not go to AOD? They're the same basic length and you'd get overdrive...

Depending on which "cruiseomatic" you have, (could be a C4 or an FMX), it may be a straight swap. Do you already have the C4? Have you compared it with your existing trans? Test fit the yoke on the driveshaft. It might interchange as well. It's been a while since I've researched this stuff but I once dug through all this info because I was converting from a C4 to an AOD. I decided to go to 3 pedals though, and went with a T5...;-)
Hope area few links that may have some good info for you. Hope some of this helps.

Turns out its an FMX. Now I'm looking for a trans mount frabricator as I can not move the cross member. Also the linkage is different so I was looking for help in this area also
