    Question Distributor gearjam

I have an older 4 bolt main 350 with an aftermarket cast cam. I'm using a TPI setup from an 86 Corvette. Some folks tell me my late model (87 up) distributor gear ( from a roller) will eat up its own gear and the cam gear. Can anyone give me a definitive answer? And a solution.

Put a bronze drive gear on the distributer.
