Guys I'm doing a rack and pinion conversion on my 66 nova The hard lines look ugly. it's a late '70's chevette rack. I'm having trouble find the hard line with the "tube end" so I can make a new set. They have a rolled end that uses a O ring to seal. I can't find anyone in the Chicagoland area that has that tubing shaped end. Also can find a AN adapter or i would just convert them over to flair fittings. Any help would be great.

Went through the same thing a couple times, I found a rebuilder that would help me out with some of the unique fittings. Area the size of Chicago has to have a couple companies that rebuild rack and pinions... The junkyard has also been a good source. There's also a few companies making some of these unique fittings that will adapt to AN fittings and lines.

When I put the Fatman front end on my car, it came with a MS2 R&P. I called them to get the fittings needed for adapting to AN #6 lines for the power steering.
I'm sure if you called any company dealing in AN fittings or maybe Flaming River, they should have the fittings you need.

If it it a #6, go to a GM dealer-they are required in their Special Tools program to have one of these (we are a GM Dealer, and, we had to buy this Tool), and it will make a 3/8" (-6) o-ring flare on tubing:

I wish you lived closer, as I fell in love and recently purchased it (ok, I admit it-I'm a Tool Junkie-where do I stand for the 12 step program?)-
