I think on the OEM parts you mount the radiator, then the grill shell & insert mount to the radiator with four brackets - http://i.ebayimg.com/t/1934-Ford-Car...05!~~60_57.JPG

Maybe Mike (34_40) can give exact details from his when he gets home tonight... My glass repro wouldn't help....

I'll try to offer you some help. What is the real hangup? As RSpears says, the "grille" if using a aftermarket unit may consist of an insert and a surround. If you have an original or In my case a Drakes replica, it's one unit and I start by fastening the top to the radiator. There's 4 bolts with nuts. Then on each top side and lower side, the inner fender and the grille attach with a side mount to the radiator. Then even lower, where the fenders and lower pan come together there are 4 or 6 more fasteners. And lastly the very center at the bottom there is a clip that secures the 2 fenders and the center of the grille.

First and foremeost, know this!!! It will drive you crazy trying to align and hold all the parts and get the bolts in place! Someone with much more experience than I told me the 33/34 Ford was certainly the hardest front end to install and align, He said the 39/40 would be a close second! I never tried to do a 39/40, this one was enough to raise my adult beverage intake noticeably!!!

If the description above isn't enough, holler out and maybe we can get some pics to you.

Where do the U shaped brackets go on the radiator. And where do the bent 1 inch strap brackets go on the radiator? I have a stock grill with a Walker radiator. I have the mounting kit that RSpears posted.

The "U" shaped brackets are for the top side mounts and the others are the lower side mounts. There should be square or rectangular slots in the radiator sides, carraige bolts go in these and the mounts go over those bolts with lock washers and nuts. The grille mounts onto this. I can try and get pictures of these tomorrow but they are behind everything so I don't know how it will come out.

It seems my bolt heads that came with the mounts . Are to big to fit into the side of my radiator. Has anyone else had this problem. Then do I just grind down the heads a bit to fit .
