looking for someone to help a fellow hotrodder out with aluminum polishing

Im looking for someone to either polish an intake manifold or refer me to someone that wont rip my head off on the cost.

Its a simple LS1 edelbrock EFI Intake and it can not be bought in a polished finish so Im stuck finding someone to get it shined up.

    Thanks guys

Heres a pic of what it looks like.

Look in the phone book or Google polishers in the Dallas area. An intake is easy for a pro but a bitch for a beginner. I would guess that a polish job is going to be in the $3-400 range

Does it have to be polished or does it just have to look like it was or like it was chromed? There are places popping up that can do a chrome paint.

    Something like this.

Eastwood has polishing kits. It might set you back more, but you won't have to ship off the manifold

Thank you all for the suggestions.

I wont be calling anyone out of the phone book around here. Too many bad polishers that I have unfortunately paid yo have crap work done in the past.

About the chrome paint.... its junk we have used it on other stuff and the outcome is less than desired.

I dont have to time to polish it myself or I would do so.

So guys, either someone here that does this so I can see a track record or a referral to someone you trust that does great work.

Please dont take this the wrong way. Im not asking for your advice on other options or what you would do.

    Thanks

I can highly recommend J & S Polishing in Colorado Springs-he did a bunch of stuff for me and it far exeeded my expectations-Jim is a avid gearhead too, so that helps-

i actually worked for al's plating when in high school . yes they had chrome then . they do nice work but remember they do a ton of commercial work and will not jump through hoops on a custom job. everything gets in line and goes through . i've sent many people to them. if you want it tomorrow dont waste your time.

I had my LT1 plenum powder coated with the chrome powder coat. And it came out looking like polished aluminum. I was pleased and it's a lot less upkeep than polished aluminum. If I was going to all the work of having it polished why not chrome it. Then you dont have the upkeep of polished aluminum. Just a thought. You might want to check out the chrome powder coat.
