That's not a bad lookin' ol' "Cat". Of that genre of Ford products, I tended to favor the Cougar over the Mustang, just to be different, if nothing else. I am pretty much in the same barn as Charlie, though, don't know much about them; I did refit/replace a long block 351 in a Torino for my son one time, and it wasn't too confusing, only a little bit. I think Em hit the nail on the head, though: a whole different dimension.
I ain't brand snobbish, though, I even had a Ford - once, and I had a Mopar - once.Rrumbler, Aka: Hey you, "Old School", Hairy, and other unsavory monickers.
Twistin' and bangin' on stuff for about sixty or so years; beat up and busted, but not entirely dead - yet.

Was special order by some little old lady. brown or dark copper with brown and white hounds tooth interior AND brown and white hounds tooth vinyl roof. What do you mean?? Someone took advantage of him big time, charging $2K for a car with a cloth top that will freeze you to death in the winter, and can't be kept cool with AC in the summer!! I'm offering to keep him whole, without regard for the fact that someone took advantage of him earlier. Seems right to me.....Roger

Go with the shorter plugs which is a closed chamber head the early heads were a 52cc head and the later heads could go up to about a 74 cc open chamber head which were the longer plugs.
You'll want the shorter plug so the piston does not come up and smack the plugs. It does not matter what year the motor is unless they changed the pistons in it. I forgot to put the that the letter is for the decades, C is the 60',
so if you have C8 on the head that stands for 1968, if you have a D that is for the 70's so D9 would be 1979. and so on.Last edited by vara4; 08-11-2013 at 11:58 AM.

The only heads for a SBF I know of that used extended reach plugs were 14mm plugs used in E6 heads mostly used on LOPO 5.0s in grand marquis and crown vics in the later years before they went with the modular engines.
