How to tell Ford Rear End Size ?!?!
I have a 1955 Ford wagon, but I'm not sure what size rear end it has under it ?!?! I'm pretty sure it's the original housing, but supposedly the gear has been changed out. It does have an inspection cover on the back, and I know the 9.0 and 8.0 don't have covers (i.e. early mustangs) What is the best way to tell one rear end from another, measure, number of bolts, any ID tags ?!?!
I need to change out the gear. It's a 4:11 !!!
Thanks for the help in advance,

Gota measure it, the only way to tell the tale. Id tags are there but, sometimes finding recources to decode these can be hard. Why not keep the 4.11, there good unless u just want a cruiser, if you wanted to drag race it, you should keep it.You don't know what you've got til it's gone
