Camaro, G body,Mustang II front clips.
I have been reading here and seen where Camaro front sub frame, It was suggested that I get a G Body front clip to add in and have read about Mustang II Suspensions.
From what I gather with the Camaro sub freame it needs to be a roller with engine, trans installed to get the correct alignment for it to track properly once it's welded in. What else needs to be done in that case?
On the G body clip what needs to be done there to make it work properly?
Mustang II was pretty much explainable. I am new at this and not sure which direction I should go with, I also have been doing a lot of reading at HAMBS there also and almost to the point of rebuilding the original suspension.
Here is a little info on the car it's a 48 Chevy coupe with a 57 Chevy rear and already has brackets welded in for a sbc.

I'd go with a suspension system using the MII geometry, however get a quality system with tubular control arms, forged spindles, and an anti-sway bar or at least provisions to mount one. Lots of units out there, let quality be the criteria and not the lowest price on Ebay!!!! If you want the car to handle like a '48 Chevy then you could rebuild the stock stuff.....they weren't very good when they were brand new so I doubt it would be very good all rebuilt!!!!! Sub frames from F or G bodies are ok, but it's no "bolt on" deal! along with the frame fabrication you're also going to have to address mounting points for the radiator support, inner fender wells, front body mounts and a whole host of other things!!!! I've seen a lot more "clips" done wrong then I've seen done right!!!!! Also you will have to make sure your ride height, wheel base, and track width is all correct!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I would like a M II set up but this is going to be a budget build. Can you recommend some reading material to set up a Camaro Sub Frame?
