3.0 Ford V-6...
I own a 2002 Ford Ranger with a 3,0 Liter V-6 and the Edge package. I'm just curious as to how much power I can get out of this engine.
There has been an idea running around in my head...how difficult it would be to replace the 3.0 L V-6 with a 5.2 L V-8 crate motor. Is it possible? Will the transmission be able to handle the extra horse power? I also wonder if I might twist the rear axles or blow out the rear-end.
Anyone got any ideas?

Welcome to the forum! There have been a lot of Ranger V8 swaps done, and you can get a lot of answers to specific questions from the guys here but the dialog you're looking for is going to be best found on one of the vehicle specific forums, like this one for example - V8 Swap into 02 Edge 4x2 - Ranger-Forums - The Ultimate Ford Ranger Resource That's where you'll find the guys who have already been through all of the details, and know the tricks & tips that make it an easier project.
Good luck on your swap, and once you have that 5.0 in it come here to talk about how to make it stronger, louder, and more obnoxious!!Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
