Where to find specific welting for fenders
Hey guys, front end is almost done, I had to order a new center link and idler arm, there was so much play in the rods.
The lower ball joints were terrible too, no wonder the steering was so sloppy.
I took the fenders off to do this of course and didn't actually look at the welting on there till now.
Turns out the builder must have used specific welting, its curved in all the correct spots to go around corners and such.
I looked at a few sites, Chevs of the 40s, Speedway etc, they don't have welting like this, Does anyone know where to get some?Girls love Hot Rods too

I don't think I'd spend much time looking for curved welting. Glue it down to the straight section of the fender first with a good contact cement or super weatherstrip adhesive, then complete the curves which will cause the flat portion of the welting to "buckle" a bit. Cut "V" notches at each buckle point, tape it down to let the adhesive set, then bolt the fenders on the body.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
