So I caught the crud early last week that is going around here in San Diego. Heads all clogged up and even dizzy at times... I feel super weak but other than that its just enough to make work not fun. So I Havent!
I did trim things up so they are fitting pretty close now. The plan is to start welding this morning and grind this afternoon.

Ive been under the weather for the last few days but made myself get the fenders pretty much done. They still need some miner welding and grinding but at least there was forward progress today. I got the fenders where I thought they should be. I cut the 4 door long and the delivery long so they over lapped. I then took the whisle cutter and just went down the center of both the pieces and tacked them up.
I just kept spot welding til it was just one big continous weld, Ground it down smooth and just like it was planned I threw the fender on.
Heck I even got the body lines to match up nice...

Well not exactly... Air powered die grinder with a 3" cut off wheel = a Whistle Cutter. Heck I bet in your shop a Straight Screw Stick probably called something else as well? It cracks me up when the young guns meet here on Friday nights, it usually take them about an hour of wrenching for them to start calling a #2 Phillips a "Short or Long Philly Deuce Rod", and a "Slotted Screw Driver" is a "Screw Stick", if they want one that hasnt been used for a pry bar in the past they ask for a "Straight Screw Stick" 2",4",6",8",10", or a longonn. I could correct them but It really cracks me up how fast they pick up the slang, I let it go and chuckle to myself and take it as a complement. Oh and a Bob Rod is anything that is used to pry with... Even a bent Philly Deuce rod. Im still trying to figure out if that is a complement or not? Gotta have fun with it guys... What is your cool tool really called... No not that one! See, hanging with the young guys has worn off on me as well.Last edited by M.T.; 04-04-2014 at 10:49 AM.
