Summit racing fuel filter canister leaking...

Hey everyone how is everyone? Got a question about fuel filter canister. Summit Racing Street & Strip® Fuel Filters - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing. Got a new tank in my 73 nova with a welded in sump holley electric fuel pump 8-an steel braided lines. I got a summit fuel filter canister and when I drive the car anywhere park it and turn it off it slowly drips fuel. Makes about a 3.5 inch puddle over night. It's not leaking from the fitting but leaking from the top bolt of the canister... Need some opinions thanks!

I'm assuming there's a gasket under the fastener? Remove the fastener and replace the gasket with a new one or use an o-ring instead.?.?.?

As Mike advises, have you tried servicing the filter with new gaskets - Summit Racing Street & Strip® Fuel Filters SUM-G1507 - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing

And pay attention to the torque you use when tightening !

Thanks guys filter is not even a month old possibly could of over tightened or not enough could be do to the fact I didn't know you needed a torque wrench for this... Learn something new everyday. Now if I take that fastener off to look too see if a damaged the gasket is a lot of fuel going too come out of this thing? Thanks mark

hahaha - - - didn't mean you needed a torque wrench, I was just emphasizing the importance of the tightening process ! I had a funky external oil filter canister on my 265 sixer that had a tapered spring between the lid and the filter along with a gasket and ?if? you didn't place the spring in correctly and tighten correctly it could be your worst nightmare.

Looking @ that filter on Summits site and I would assume those bolts just hold the canister to the bracket If that's the case I would bet those bolt holes are open. I would back 1 bolt out apply teflon tape, re install and repeat for the other one.
