stainless ribbed radiator hoses
I have been told these type of radiator hoses leak. Do any of you guys have these. And if so do they leak. Or how did you stop them from leaking. I like the looks of them. But if they don't seal what's the point.

116.jpgBesides the fact that some do leak, the other downside is they are ribbed. A ribbed or corrugated hose will not flow as well as a smooth tube. I know they do flex and can be bent to fit where you need it but there are other ways to fit your application. I used pieces of 1.5" aluminum tubing with silicone hose to get the right connections.

most( oh well, at least a lot) of radiator hoses have 2 different size ends--these ss tube hoses use a rubber bushing to fit in one end to adapt to the smaller connection. Because of this system, the tube part is bigger than what looks good, plus its common for them to blow off that adapted end when they get hot and pressure builds up----------

I bought a set from Speedway, work okay. I haven't had any leaks or overheating issues.
But I do know a couple guys removed them and their cars stopped running warm/hot.
If I was doing it over, I'd go with the aluminum tubing and short section of hose.
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
