Tie Rod Ends---Used for Trike Steering
I have a V8 trike.
It uses tie rod ends on 2 steel poles that connect the handlebars
to the motorcycle front forks.
The threaded part of the tie rod ends are not long enough to
get the castle nut on far enough to put the cotter pin in the hole.
Can I use nylon lock nuts along with some Loctite to secure
the tie rod ends?
Thanks to all.

Pictures would be a big help here. In my estimation, though, in this situation, if things don't fit the way they ought to, I'd be inclined to make new stuff that does fit right. I know the general setup you have, and losing a steering rod while moving could be disastrous; don't take a chance on it.Rrumbler, Aka: Hey you, "Old School", Hairy, and other unsavory monickers.

I second Rumbler. Something as serious as steering can not be jerryriged, your life and maybe others may be at stake.

You're talking about the tapered shaft that fits into the spindle, right? Sounds like you have a mismatch on your parts, either the shaft taper is too large, the female taper is too small, or the spindle part too thick. Don't trust your life to a nylock nut. Get the parts right.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
