    Sound Deadener placement?

Ok so im in the middle of putting a carpet kit in my el camino, I ordered some sound deadener along with the kit. I dont know what side goes up with the deadener. One side is smooth with a thin film on it and the other side is like sand paper. It would make sense if the sandy side went up so the carpet wouldnt shift around.

Sorry if this question has been asked before
    any thoughts?
    thanks

    Hiya,
I am just guessing here, but film up, so it don't seal moisture against the metal floor? ( maybe?)
