Would love to hear that story!
Kidding aside - this is what happens here on this site - tons of knowledge and good informaiton that when combined will give you a guide to engine building that could not be bought in any book store. Pay close attention to Tech's #3 as the "stack of parts" is truly a critical measurement.
Are you still with us V8orBust?

Well... I don't want to be a doomsday prophet but...
I know that Pat and others have much better processes and could save him in the long run over building an engine himself. I've done this too many times and it's all the little $50 and $75 things that add up. What he wants just can't be done for $3K. When people start bolting a bit-of-this and a bit-of-that together it usually turns out really bad. And I always love the "... I have a buddy who says he can port my heads with a Dremel tool on the kitchen table and it's good for 200 more horsepower..." stories.
I really hope V8orBust stays with us and perhaps we can help with his project."Where the people fear the government you have tyranny. Where the government fears the people you have liberty." John Basil Barnhil
Thank you Roger. .
