I swapped a 235 into my '52 Chevy after the 216 died. With a 6-cyl Corvette cam, dual one-bbl. carbs and Fenton split exhaust headers it was an entirely different car.Jack

Ya. I swapped in a 248 GMC for the 216 in my 48 Chevy when it died, but it would be almost impossible to locate one of those now.Remember, Freedom isn't Free, thousands have paid the price so you can enjoy what you have today.

Thanks for all of your input you have been a big help. As soon as I figure out how to post pictures on this site I will. Will keep you updated throughout the 1939 project. Right now engine is pulled. Whole truck is down to bare metal and am fixing the rust holes. Have new brakes and brake lines already installed.

We managed to get a couple of other small things taken care of. One was blacking out the front of the core support. When the sun hit the front of the car just right that green paint on the core...
