    Attaching a file

I built a spread sheet for calculating the RPM of your engine taking to account your wheel size, transmission, and gear ratio. I was trying to figure out how to attach the file so anybody can download it and I keep getting a error that say "not a valid file". Is it possible to attach an Excel Spread Sheet to a tread?

Nope. The only things you can attach are photo files and internet links. You'd have to e-mail the spreadsheet file. Can't even go via PM.

Opens as a picture with an excel extension, but the "open with" options don't include Excel for me. Maybe if one saves it and then opens it in Excel? I'm not a Google Drive user....

On the top row there is an arrow with a underline that should let you download. Try pressing that.

Here is a different method that think will work better. See if this works easier. Thanks

That one works good but the one I built allows you to select your actual transmission and will give you your RPM in each gear.

Just a note/comment, clicking that link results in an automatic download of the file to your computer, with no option to scan it or otherwise see what you're getting. May not be a big deal, but I got it in my "Downloads" file twice before I realized what it was doing, and I prefer to know what I'm downloading.

After anything downloads if would always suggest you scan it before you open it. The other option would be for me to email to anybody who wants one. I just thought a direct link might work better if somebody is in a hurry. Where would be a good place to post a thread with this link so it is searchable?

I think I will put a note in the thread that says "clicking on link will automatically download the file"

All threads are searchable, but finding the right combination of search terms that gets what you want without it being a part of 999 others is often challenging. Just my $0.02.

Should I start a thread in the Engine Talk area with this info? This thread here might be kind of confusing. Did you try the spread sheet? If so let me know if you see any errors. Thanks
