Door latch
Picked up my car today. The rod that connects to the door latch came off so now I can't open the door. Shaved door handles on the outside. I can't see how the door panel is attached. Any suggestions?32 Roadster, 331 Hemi

Head to Oreilly and get a panel removal tool, it ill either be held on with plastic Christmas tree panel clips or metal Dodge style clips, both are concealed but if you just pull on the panel you could pull the clip through the panel, the removal tool is sort of a vee and the center goes around the stem of the clip and keeps everything reusable. would love to see some pics of your car! Best of luckWhy is mine so big and yours so small, Chrysler FirePower

I can't add anything on the door panels , but wanted to say welcome. Nice car, what transmission and rear end is it running?
.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

Thanks much for the advice! It is a TH350 and a 9" furd rear. Not sure what gear ratio. Unfortunately, I didn't get much info from the dealer.
Took it to a show last night and on the way home the brakes became really problematic. It's like I lost vacuum to the M/C, but I don't even know that it uses vacuum. I went for a quick spin this am and they worked intermittently. Fluid level is fine. Any further thoughts?32 Roadster, 331 Hemi

What do you mean they "worked intermittently"? Does the pedal just get hard and it won't stop or does the pedal drop to the floor?
Either scenario is very scary but I think the second would tell you to not drive it until you figure it out... Do you have a vacuum gauge that you can install and monitor the vacuum from the engine? If not, you should! Very helpful tool and can tell you much of the engines internal condition.

The pedal is just really hard. But assist seemed to come back for a moment (not to the floor, just like good power assist) but then back to rock hard. See the pic below. Is the black sphere an assist device? The yellow sticker says, "pedal 10 times with ignition off." Which I did, but didn't perceive a change.
And the hydraulic side:
Is that the proportioning valve with the handle?
Oh, and you're right, it is not safe to drive like this.Last edited by 32 Hemi Deuce; 05-08-2016 at 12:56 PM.

I can't say I've seen that black piece before, The brass block behind the black ball (to the right) looks to me to be the proportioning valve.
The thing with the handle?? I haven't a clue... Maybe it is but I haven't seen one like that.
I "think" the black ball is an accumulator, what's the rest of the sticker say?

The 'black ball' is an accumulator / reservoir often used on various brake systems - among other hydraulic systems. I think that the fitting with the T handle is a pressure limiter / regulator. It looks like someone wanted a really exotic brake system.

You might also want to take a look at THIS ARTICLE for some idea about how the accumulator works.
All this makes me wonder if the builder set up the car for ABS brakes.Last edited by Henry Rifle; 05-08-2016 at 08:49 PM.
