Long time coming, 53 Chevy is at the Body Shop
Been a very long time since I have been on here, I joined in 2005 and thought I would steadily get my 53 3100 done in a about 3 yrs. Well it is now at the end of 2016 and this summer I was doing some body work on the 53 one Sat afternoon and I said, "Screw it, I don't care what it costs, this thing is going to the body shop, I'm done". So I'm happy to say it at the shop and they are getting close to painting the cab and I need to choose a color soon. My wife is thinking about Gecko Green or Green With Envy, both Mopar colors. Any pics of something similar to help our decision would be appreciated. I will post some pics as soon as I get the cab back. I checked out the last pics I posted on here and it doesn't look much different at the moment. Just thought I would let those who remember me know that I haven't given up on it yet.

Yep. You're remembered alright.
You once posted up an absolutely stunning picture of two of your kids fishing, silhouetted against a lake by a setting sun.
Bloody gorgeous.
Good to see you back.
Regarding your truck...I was once told that 'good things take time'.
You're taking time so it must be a good thing you're doing!
Right?

Both of those greens are attention grabbing bright! Hard to say, but the Green with Envy looks pretty sharp on Challengers....Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Wow, I can't belive you remember that picture, it was at Snake Creek, Platte South Dakota on the Missouri River. Great place and we try to go there once a year. I tried looking for that pic just now and I can't find it on the computer. Now I'm a little worried.
I am flip flopping pretty hard on the greens. Sometimes the Gecko/Sublime looks great in pics, other times not so much but my wife loves it. The Green with envy always seems to look good to me. I think I need to see both colors in person.

Good to see you again. I know how it goes......I joined in 2003 when I was starting on my 37......and I'm still working on it.
I suppose you have already looked at these pictures, but in case you haven't.

The problem with pictures is you seldom if ever get a true representation of the color due to the differences in cameras, lighting etc. Looking at paint chips can give you a general idea, but I know in my case when I've picked colors that way I usually wish I'd gone a shade or 2 lighter or darker once I've got them on the car.
"...... I think I need to see both colors in person........"
I think you pretty much hit that on the head. It may take some looking around but once you spray whatever color you choose you'll have to live with it.
As far as greens go, I've always liked and wanted to do a car in 1970 Cadillac Green Firemist it really metallic heavy and to my eye really pops.
There is a pretty good representation of in the convertible shown a little ways down the page here.

Again good to see you back.
.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

Thanks for finding the pic, makes sense that I don't have it in Google photos. I wrote that I had them developed, it was long before I had a smart phone. I must have pulled it off my memory card. That was 2008, wow does time fly by.
Thanks for the links of all the colors, I may go to sioux falls tonight and look around at the dealers also.

I can't help you on the color but I've been messing with my 72 for nearly 10 years and it still isn't finished. But it still is eating money every so often.Ryan
