Sorry after reading my question I worded it badly, it will be on the inside of the door , but I was wondering if it would work as well if I stuck it to the inside of the outer skin or if the inside of the inner skin. There is a lot less stuff to go around on the outer skin.

All I can offer is my own experience(s) with Dynamat-I think if you put it on an outside panel you will see some deadening, but not the full effect-the reason I feel this way is that there is a very noticeable difference in the "tone" of the Door after I put it on (it "dulls" the metal sound to a thud)-

I would put it on the outer skin if at all possible (but on some cars the window mechanism does get in the way)-
Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?
