O.K. What does that mean...... As you can tell I'm not as smart as you when it come to engine work...... and I sure can't afford to pay Mr. deadwrench. oops I mean goodwrench or those union dues, so how do I fix it? The end of my dipstick looks like someone took a sledge hammer to it, Tried to turn it around so it would enter the right way but no luck.... I let a local Hot Rod saturday night drag racer work on it....... one of those that know everything there is to know about an engine, know anybody like that?... I have called the local speed shop ond they told me that the stick should be 19" long and tubing should be about 6" well back to one of those genius mechinacs put one in to long...... At least I didn't have to pay for the rebuild though, because he didn't fix it right...
Any info would be greatly appreciated.....

Well of course their sisters have no trouble with proper auto maintenance. Streets and inline are bound to have trained them correctly, just as they may have been willing to train you, had your question displayed an IQ in the double digits.

Change the oil, could be a lifter ticking.
Might also try running a higher octane fuel, might be a valve rattling.

Thanx for the info....... I found the problem though..... The guy put in the wrong dipstick it was too long, It was curled up and the crank was tapping it on rotation, It was almost out of oil also, not allowing the lifters to pump up properly..... As far as what I said I was just joking, but hey if you can't take a joke them don't give one...... by the way how I found it was on another website, I had four diffrent people reply 3 of the 4 hit just about on the money... That tells me that someone-else IQ is in the double digits "Not yours"....... I really appreciate you trying to help me though..... This should be good info though for the next Johnson rod person that ask a question like this...... Mr. moderator if you look at this please send me a PM telling me how to unsubscribe....... I'm not sure how to, and from the advice Streak "I mean Street" and Inline give they may just have tring to do something to mess up my computer and/or my engine, while they are playing with thier jonhson Rods.... Thanx again Lv2spd for taking the time to help......

    where's da oyl

Let's get this straight. You had someone build your motor. You then put in the 5 quarts of oil and ran it and then checked the oil level. Right. That's what anyone one would do.

So, Whhyyyyyyy at that point didn't you see that the dipstick was tooooooo looooooong. Are you blind as well as snippy? Or didn't you even put oil in the motor? Or didn't you check it after break in? Something here does not compute.

Sorry to take so long to get back "I was in the bathroom playing with my johnson rod" Wow.. All this excitement over little ole' me...... Let me see if I can resond to all the statements... 1. The guy that built the motor and the guy that put it in for me or two diffrent people"1 jackass and 1 honest guy.... I just got it back and it's not nice to make fun of blind people..... 2.I'm sure a lot of people on are witty and down right smart, I'm not really sure how I was the rude one though, but hey that's the way it goes... 3. the online idiot said Dumbass, yea dumbass.... well from what I can tell your ass doesn't seem to do anything else but talk, and take a breath every now and then....... Bill if I was rude I truly am sorry to you and anyone that took offense to it. I don't understand why I'm the one getting chewed on though.... I didn't start it, but I'm not a "senior member" either...... I haven't stepped on this many toes since the high school prom 30 years ago..... but you know what they say don't dish it if you can't take.....
