All back together, road test successfull, and it passed inspection. Couldn’t get plates today cause the license office is closed but all I have left is hook up the beacon light and put down the floor mat that is coming Tuesday. It drives so much better!

Looks like it turned out great! With all the work you went into to get it to drive better I'm a bit worried how my 48 is going to drive. Knowing how fast you turn projects I think is safe to ask if you got it sold yet and what's on deck ? I like the stuff you build !

Thanks! No, I haven’t put it up for sale yet. Nothing coming up for myself but the drummer in my band just inherited his late grandpas 1977 Grand Prix and is wanting me to help him get it roadworthy again. Plus I’ve still been helping on my other buddy’s 53 Chevy.

I’d at least go with a brake upgrade on your 48. I’ve had a few 40s Mopars with stock brakes and they leave a lot to be desired.

We put power brakes on the '47 Ford at around the same time as we put power brakes on the Morris Minor.
I was commenting to a mate a while afterwards as to how much improved the braking on both cars was.
He said "Yup. That's why we used to call it the Jesus pedal."
I must've looked blank 'cos he continued "You'd put your foot on the brake pedal and start hollering 'Sweet Jesus! Help me Jesus!'"

I've kinda got that whole part in trial mode right now. I have just enough money stuck in the old brakes to try them out for awhile without a large financial loss if scrapped. If I swap a Jeep rear end in it for road speed, I think I will definitely have to do something with front disks.

Made a small change this week. The Fiero pedals worked ok but were just a little short. I got the pedals from a Jeep and was able to make them work in the Fiero pedal assembly.
I also got this propane furnace several months ago and just got around to tearing it down, cleaning everything up and rewiring it. It fires great, just need to put the flue on and no more torpedo heater.

That heater should be a nice improvement over one of those little rocket engines...….

Definitely; just the fact that I can set a thermostat and it will cycle on its own is a huge improvement.

Are you saying its not safe to have a torpedo heater going in a garage full of various automotive chemicals, paints, and aerosol cans? Lol!
