87 Silverado
Acquired a 87 Silverado needs cab corners, a door repair, a bit of interior work. When I got it the PO said it did not run and did not know why. The top was all apart, and I had no clue what was wrong. So I put it all back together. It started right up with gas in intake Its throttle body. But no gas to T/B. I could hear both pumps running when turned on. After that making no sense I pulled a tank, The hose from the pump to the line out of the tank was rotted away. I put that back together and did the other one same thing. No it runs but the dash switch is questionable?? It was time to pull it out and see how it ran. NOPE found trans shot 700R4 had one on the shelf for another build. OH well the other build will wait. It now runs and drives. Waiting for camping season to end Oct 2 then it will come back in for body work. I'm thinking I may keep this one?? or not??Charlie

Well its time to start on the 87. Finely got an opening and time in the shop for my stuff. I'll be replacing the passenger door and rocker panel with the cab corner. The driver side cab corner will be replaced too. I found out this truck was born black now I love black so the plan is to repaint it back.Charlie

I have done this probably 10 + times on different cars and trucks it's all the same BUT this is the first time I ran into the rockers being welded and glued in . I'll have to fab new inner rockers it only has half the rear doesn't have inners. I have all winter to play with it. I'll post pictures as I go.Charlie

Nice! I'm glad the old square bodied Chevys are getting popular. My dad's last vehicle was a dark green 76 Suburban. He absolutely loved that truck; he bought it with 30K miles three years before he retired from bricklaying and drove it until the year he passed away at 70. I've often thought about building a copy of it if I ever come across a solid candidate.1 Corinthians 1:27

maybe talented on sheet metal but posting pictures is another story. Seems they are good till I check the post then they are upside down. So I go back and turn them upside down in my computer and repost. They come out upside down again. Maybe I'll just post them upside down and let it goCharlie

Well I'll try a few of the fender well. A new one is about $50. not bad and would be happy to spend that BUT shipping is way over $100. So get out the sheet metal and the anvil make what you need. Seams the battery acid eats these things. After its back together it will get undercoating.Charlie

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
