WTB Mr.Gasket vintage side pipes
Do any of you know where there are any old school Mr.Gasket side pipes that might be for sale? I really only need the cast or pot metal end outlet pieces. My uncle had these on the 40 when he was around and I am wanting to incorporate it into the car again. Does anyone have any pictures of any? I've been looking for some pics or the actual parts for a while with no luck. I have the image burned into my mind. If I remember correctly, the outlets were cast aluminum, with fins on the top. They were rectangular and curved. But it has been nearly 30 years since I have seen them.
I spoke to the man who spear headed the resto project for my aunt and he has no idea where they went. I already searched my aunt's place years ago for them with no luck. I may just have to recreate them. I'm not sure yet.Ryan

Are you talking about what we called "lake pipes"? If so I've never seen rectangular ones and I'm older than dirt. I have seen single, double and triple outlet though

No sir. These were more like these patriot ones but they had a cast I think aluminum outlet on them instead of being chrome mild steel.

I just registered a request with Honest Charley Speed Shop. If they have them or know where they are available, they will email me and I'll pass on the info. That's my best shot.

Thia is a better set, but very pricey. Good luck on finding what you're looking for.

Tell me about it. I've been looking for a set of the Thrush pipes, too, and was shocked at what they are asking for them. Makes sense though, they haven't been made in many moons and with the upsurge in popularity of vintage muscle cars, it was inevitable that folks would want the period dress up goodies. The bare cast and extruded aluminum parts probably didn't fare fare well over the years, so good parts will be rare.
The Thrush pipes looked pretty good, but let's just hope the jacked up look with super long rear shackles or air shocks doesn't make a come back!
I'll be going to the Cruizin' the Coast swap meet in October, but don't think I'll find any much cheaper. EBAY and Facebook tend to set prices nowadays.Last edited by Hotrod46; 09-27-2019 at 07:02 AM.

I couldn't believe the prices once I started searching using "Lake pipes" like Ken did. Wow, I might be reproducing some end pieces out of mild steel. I don't want them that bad currently. The sad part is the prices will just continue to go up. Haha
