    How do these prices sound...

Ok for all the lads and ladies who have more experience in the buying field out there, I have a spendy question.

Used T 56, damn good shape, comes with bellhousing, shifter, skip shift eliminator kit, tail housing and yoke. 1200 US

12 Bolt Housing with cover only. 850 Canadian

TH-350 with aftermarket convertor. 100 US

Cost effectiveness of Blown 455 Buick vs Blown 454 Rat, keep in mind the weight advantage of Bucky.

Ah nuts I forgot the rest...I'll repost later

Well, that's a good price for a T56. I think they're around 3g's for a new one. I would open it up and replace the syncrhos before I put it in a car.
850 for the 12 bolt rear end is very priciy, considering it has nothing in it. I've seen 12 bolt posi rear ends sell for 300 usd on overpriced ebay.
I don't trust automatic transmissions even if recently rebuilt, so I would only buy it as a core.
The 454 would be the cheapest. GM has a 8.75:1 454 with all forged internals for $5000 that is just asking for some boost.

I had the same thoughts on most of those things. The T is pretty cheap and could last but would be best to rebuild if its a quality job. The 12 bolt was overpriced for being bare...even if all I need is a posi case to put in it...and some axles...and a yoke...and some gears...soooo yup its not worth it considering you can get the new ones with the ford big end style for the larger bearings etc etc. The auto I wouldn't trust off the bat either. However, I know the Buick is much more money but its just so different it would be nice, and they are a pretty torquey thing. Thanks for da info.
I'd rather go fast than worry about the gas mileage.
