Most air tools sold by Crafstman, Stanley (Mac), and Matco are made by Ingersoll-Rand. Some of the Blue Point (Snap-on's off-brand) are Ingersoll also.

The Snap-on line of air tools are made by Snap-on and are a completely different design than others.

I got a carftsman 3/8 butterfly at their 'parts and service' counter for $50 'rebuilt'. Seems like new to me, and cheap. Here the 'parts and service' is in the detached auto service building and around back (near the lawnmower repair). They have all sorts of clearance and open items (stereos, camcorders, weedwhackers, etc) Selection changes often.

I was a Carlisle last week and most tool dealers and Chicago Pneumatic or generaic brands (which were there) but there was a tremendous amount of IR stuff too. Their 'new' Ti line has a lot of plastic in it..kind of disappointing.
