    Gasket problem...

I have a '72 Charger with a 318. I recently purchased an Edelbrock 600cfm carb for it and bought an intake manifold from a car show vender to fit the carb to the 318. The intake manifold is for a '71 340 engine.... I guess for another Charger but I am not sure at all.

Problem is the gasket set I bought is for the intake manifold I have because I have already touble checked with the Autozone about it, however, it seems that the 4 center bolt holes in the gasket are different. Instead of being bolt holes they are rectangles and they hang over the edge of the manifold a little bit as well. But other than that it fits perfect. Is it a problem for the 4 center bolts to be unsealed? Everything else is pretty much sealed up well.

Also the whole gasket itself seems to hang over the edge a little bit. Is it normal to have to cut a lot of extra gasket off around the surface of stuff?

    Thanks for any help!

I agree, just order a gasket set through Jeg's or Summit, Fel pro's are excellent.
