irratic idle!
I have an 1990 chev sportside with an 305. so far I have added an K&N filter, Throttle body spacer, chip, headers with 2 and a half inch exhaust and a B&M shift kit. The problem I'm having is when I'm at idle in gear for more than say 5min. the idle goes erratic. I just put a new cap, rotor and plugs in, and the wires were brand new last season! I'm running 94 octane fuel and have added another intake tube to the breather assembly for more air! any ideas! If it aint a truck, I aint interested!

Man those are long stop lights get a fuel pressure gauge hooked up and see what it does when the stumble happens, I'm guessing partially clogged injectors or mabey weak fuel pump.Objects in the mirror are losing

And you don't need to be running 94 octane. Just a waste of money on your 305.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

iratic idle
Has a brand new oxygen sensor and had a new fuel pump and tank last year! its usually the coffee shop drive thru when i notice the idle gets irratic! the injectors have a good spray but i'll check the pressure and see what i get! hopefully around 14 lbs pressure! The last thing done before this problem was the headers and exhaust. but it has idled fine until just recently, the headers were added last fall!If it aint a truck, I aint interested!
For sure!! I recall Jim's torsion bar suspension on at least one of his builds, but I'm not sure which one! Maybe the Track T?? He's a talented builder.
