    hey, put a new flexplate, 168 tooth in my 79-z28 which has a 73 vette block, and had numrous starters break, now i put in a brand new tci flexplate, i was told that a mini-starter would solve my problem by jegs, i was wondering how true this is does anyone have any suggestions?

    Before spending all that money on a new mini starter, I might want to find out the reason for breaking all those other ones. Was the old flexplate the fault? A starter usually breaks the nose due to kick back, or the mounting bolts being loose, or the rear support bracket to block not being installed.
