Bucket Seats
Does anyone know what bucket seats might fit in my 77 Vega? It now has a set of non tilt racing(very little padding) buckets and I really want a little more comfort and ease of reaching rear seat area. I haven't been able to locate any decent stock seats but have a lot of junk yards I can scrounge thru. I have under 20" from trans tunnel to door sill. Open to all suggestions thant fit my pocketbook!! Thanks JakeJake

Hey 1989.
That's a good looking car (for a Chebby)
Off hand I don't know of any for sure, but I think you might be able to get a set of Late 80's-early90's Mustang GT seats in there. I've used them before in some pretty tight spaces.
They are light and comfortable, give you fold forward and recline, and pretty affordable in the junk yards now adays. LX seats of course would work, but aren't quite as comfortable.Duane S

Buckets out of a 2 door Saturn. The late model ones are made a little wider and the early ones ('91-'92) have deep bolsters.

Had a good day of scrounging at the yard, I got my seats and a lot of odds and ends. I got a set of leather buckets out of a late 90's Grand Am and they physically fit and 16 hrs later I allmost have them in!! These are definitely not a direct bolt in!! After 4 trips to the hardware and more than a little fabricating I'm down to drilling one hole and changing one bolt!! They look great and feel even better but I wouldn't advise anyone to do it unless burning up drill bits and a sore back is your idea of a good time!! I can't wait to start on the original hood, I'm putting an L 88 style scoop on it and the bracing underneath will be interesting to say the least, Should have my new carb this week and can take the no choke 850 double pumper of and bump my mileage up to 9 mpg!! Wife says the Flowmasters got to go but?? Got to go JakeJake
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
