not wure what you mean by water pump...you'll need a 302 one of course, and the hoses to connect to the rad and heater core. pretty straight forward. if the hoses on the rad and water pump are on opposite sides, then you can try a new rad, or longer hoses or hose and pipe routine (common on newer cars for heater core situations)
oil pan..I think most 302s are rear sump, but there are dual sump apps (crown vics?). crawl under you truck and see where the sump is - if it is a rear sump you should be fine with most any 302 pan.Chris

My friend swapped his 292 for a 302 in his Mainline sedan. The old Motor mounts worked, simply by swapping sides. You can get a Ford water pump with the inlet on the other side if you need to. Overall sizes are compatible. Be careful that the water pump gets turned in the right direction...i.e., a serpentine system's pump spins in reverse from a standard old school pump.Buliding things out of other peoples junk has got to be one of the coolest things someone could do!

Use a 302 Ford Pickup oil pan and pickup, available at your Ford dealer.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

the 292 has 1 front motor mount and 2 on the bellhousing.so which would be the better swap mounts the ones that go from frame railto framerail or the ones that you bolt to the rails ( would weld these to rail) and i have seen water pumps with outlets on both sides. the tranny will be a 4aod.

In the sedan, the motor mounts are on either side of the engine like newer ones (if memory serves). If you are using an AOD, I would tend to put in all new frame mounts. Definately don't use a front mount only, as this will snap your bellhousing and/or flywheel (we fix a lot of broken belhousings in my shop).Buliding things out of other peoples junk has got to be one of the coolest things someone could do!
And a Happy Birthday Wish for Mr. Spears. Hope you can have a great one. :)
