Need help with hood ornaments
The guy b4 me put primer on all the hood ornaments on my car, the wing ornament, chevy emblem ornament and the Powerglide deck lid ornamen't and I'm starting to clean the primer off them and most of the chrome is pitted badly, where can I get replacements ither new or used with good chrome? or how much would it cost to get them rechromed? I know I could throw them in the trash and weld up all the holes but, I kinda like them. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

Most chrome trim into the '70's is made of pot metal. Many places can repair the pits and rechrome the pieces. This is what will need to be done with these. Let your fingers do the walking with either Hemmings Motor News or the internet. These types of repairs are very labor intensive and not cheap.

I look on Ebay from time to time for them and I do find them for like 30-50 bucks but, I can't find the powerglide rear deck lid ornament, they all have numbers but I don't know if I'd be able to get new replacements. I found an aftermarket replacement that replaces the wing ornament but there 250 bucks but looks better and has a gold cast to it.You don't know what you've got til it's gone
