Being a convertible you will need subframe connectors to stiffen it up,a stroker 351-w would be the easiest to install and would not be nose heavy and have similar power.

Sounds like a plan to me!! If you've got the Heidt's IFS, you've allready taken care of the shock tower issue. It's going to take a big notch in the firewall to get that bad boy back far enough to work right. Frame ties are the minimum, guess I would suggest going to a full frame for the car, and at least a 6 point cage to get the thing tied together.

My buddy had a pinto and did the same thing watched him spent hours on it then the call came (hey I am gunna fire it up come on over) 30 seconds later after the burnout cleared there she was all torked up on the front 3 tires on the ground ! 1 tire still floatin and spinnin up in the front all by its lonesome....that tire never hit the ground again Ohhh by the way the windshield looked kinda kewl afterwards all over the street like diamonds.even kinked the dash a little.Needless to say it was a sad day !!!
Its gunna take longer than u thought and its gunna cost more too(plan ahead!)
