    "zoomie"headers

does anyone know of where I can find a set of bbc zoomie headers like you see on funny cars?I'm building a 33 ford and would like to put a set on it.I saw a guy one time at a show that had a set on a small block and had put a motorcycle mufflers in each one.I don't want the short ones like you see on drag boats they need to extend all the way down.thanks,
    Bryan

Now here's one of those examples of where terminology really does matter. Do you really mean "zoomies" or are you thinking "weed burners"? Most drag boats I've seen use what ARE zoomies. Here's a link to a builder; http://performanceweldingheaders.com/zoomieprices.htm

These would be an example of "weed burners", though not the only possible shape.

    zooOOMIES...

Yes they do have baffles inside the end of each header tube... These were custom made by a guy that kennyd uses for most of his custom exhaust work... You might e-mail kennyd for more info, he is a regular poster here on CHR...

    Hope this helps...

Hi. Can you help me to find a set of SBC funny car style zoomies? Long story about mine. I see that someone steered you to a source and I would appreciate some help. Thanks. Jim in Michigan

Sure wouldn't be tough to build a set... Some mandrel bent tubes, some straight tubes, a pair of flanges. Tig weld them all together and send them off to the chrome shop or ceramic coating shop.... Best part of building your own, can make them fit the car correctly.....

But the question begs to be answered..... Why a set of weed burners???? Even with baffles they're nothing but obnoxious and would be a guaranteed cop magnet......
