Has anyone ever put an alternator in a generator housing? I want to keep the generator housing but want an alternator in it.Gerig Michael H.

Hmmmmm. I've seen a setup on both a flathead ford and a VW. My guess would be that an auto electric shop could do the modification for you. Should be at least one in your area. Another thought would be any number of import cars have some pretty small diameter alternators that you could swap the guts over to the generator housing. Might take a bit of machining for the bearings.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
