I cranked the proportioning valve all the way in. I have some
other "brake issues" as well, but I'm working on it.

daver i dont know how i can make you understand about these brakes, but if you have had to rig a spring to your pedal so your brakes will release, then thats what youve got, some rigged up brakes. you still have a brake problem. the rod
(that goes to the padal) is part of the booster, it not suppose to pull out out of the booster and the booster pushes it back (untill it bottoms out) when you let off of the padal. if the booster is not pushing the rod out all of the way, then you have a booster problem. the spring in the booster is going to be a lot stiffer than any spring you bought at the parts store. you can put a spring on it if you wont to, it wont heart anything, but if you are doing it to release your brakes, you are doing it for the wrong reason. youve got another problem. you still might need it use the porportioning valve to adj. front to rear brake balance before you get them like you wont them. the brake padel is tied to the booster by the brake rod. where ever the brake booster goes so goes the padel.
