If your car looks like that one ............... Why do you need paint?

I like a resto just as much as a as a hotrod or custom. My '51 Chevy is 98% original right now with original drivetrain and interior. I'm going to paint it Dark purple, changing it from the original # 402 Meyland black and change the original interior ( it is useable if gone true original but is somewhat torn cause of age ) to White and Purple viynal and add a sunvisor over the windshield. The only thing right now that's not original is a 2" 31" long Thrush Glasspack but I will be adding a set of headders and a new intake next year ( and redoing exzaust again ). From what I read on the internet, my car is a rare find, being supposoly there were not many 4dr Fleetlines made in '51 and I have only seen a few 4dr '51 Fleetlines on Ebay and I have yet to find a '51 Fleetline 4dr Deluxe with the powerglide other than mine. If you truley restore your car, don't try to drive it like a hotrod, the drivetrain won't take it also, your car is not a hardtop, it's a sedan, a hardtop has no doorpost's and no windoframes, that ebay car has doorpost's and window frames.

The paint is show quality with no major damage?? I dont get it.
the paint only has a handful of minor scraches. Ok no big deal.
The is the cleanest 57 belair on e-bay... Look at the engine dirt, grease and what looks like carbon build up by the left bank exhaust Man. HMMM

Oh Yea this is a true 57 Chevy belair with a vin number to verify?? Once again I dont get it, what do we need to verify yes its a 57 Belair no doubt about it.

All in All its a nice car. But I dont think the guy is 100% on the level, oh wait he sells cars we already knew that.

Oh and also, you know how you were calling your car 110% original, it can't be that original because it wouldn't really be original, it would actully be 90% original with that theory. an Example of this is some restorer's line up the doors better than they were original to make the car straighter but is it original if the doors are straighter than they were originally? I'd be so original, it would loose it's originalality, get what I'm saying. Have fun with the car though, whatever you do to it.

    Peace,

the 110% means as original as they get HEHe. my car is a sedan. ille put it that way. its a sedan. that car looks liek mine. just like it. except that one is in better shape my car gets a 7 out of 10 stars while that one would get a 9 out of 10.

Well then, if it is just like yours, then your is a 4 dr sedan, not a 4 dr hardtop.

You know technically if you line up the doors to match the original design, that could be more original than the original.
