Rearend question?
I am confused about the parts of a 55 chevy bel air, The front end is the part were the engine goes in and i know it is romoveable so are the fender, side panels etc. but what about the back part of it were the trunck and wings stick out on the rear end???? IS it a whole part of the car or does it come of like the front end? Do they sell rear end replacement like they do with the front ends????????
The grey part( pretty much the whole back part of a 55 bel air) of the car is the one i dont know what it's car and what to do if the car does not have it? IT is just chassis and the front end its miss the back part and the seat etc.Danny

I am not sure if they sell that whole peice but if so then you may have to do quite a bit of cutting and welding. They would be called left and right rear panels. Look on www.classicchevy.com I think that's the site but I got it from someone off of here. Just got to look around. I spend about 6 hours looking for glass for a 57 and still only found the front and side glass, so it may take a long time. Either that or go look for another 55 that is cheaper and doesn't need as much done to it.www.streamlineautocare.com
If you wan't something done right, then you have to do it yourself!

Well it's not removable, you need quarter panals and a couple of panals that I can't think of the name but it's the panals that go around the window bottem and trunk. These panals need to be cut out and new welded back in. If the trunk lid's not good ither, you need to find a good 1 or do sheetmetal work to it.You don't know what you've got til it's gone

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
