Air Cleaner Spacer/Risers?
Hi there folks. I'm a newbie and I have a question. My husband has a 1936 Ford pickup truck with a 565 (I think) blown Chevy engine. He is in the process of making further modifications to the engine and wants to get, if possible, polished aluminum risers to go between the dual carburetors (Holley I think) and the air cleaner (just ordered a double-barrelled shotgun scoop for that). Apologies if I get some of the lingo wrong, BTW, I am still learning. Anyway, we can't find the dang things. I've seen them on other hot rods, so I know they are out there! But searching the net is turning up zip, tried air cleaner spacer/riser, carb spacer, etc. They would be approx 3" in diameter. Anyone know where to get them?
Thanks!

Hi again, and thanks. I guess carb spacer isn't the right term, must be air cleaner spacer.... he is looking for something round that goes between the carburetors and the air cleaner, the carb spacers I find on Holley and Moroso's websites are rectangular/squarish and appear to go between the blower unit and the carburetors. Right? Not that he probably won't want to put those on, too, I think the end goal is to have the engine sticking up over the roof of the truck.... He got a 3" intercooler that I believe goes between the engine and the blower unit, too. Any hints appreciated!

Are you possibly looking for velocity stacks? These go op top of the carb and have a slight funnel shape.
Try searching at Jegs or Summit for Velocity Stack and see if that is what you are thinking of.
Welcome to CHR by the way.
PatOf course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!

Only air cleaner spacers I can find are black plastic, Id buy a section of stainlees tubing the diameter ya need and cut the length he needs, then polish em stainlees looks better than chrome when polished and won't dull out.....

I had the same problem. A old style aircleaner would not fit my 3 duece manifold. The back would hit the distributor and I was told to use PVC. It worked but didn't look good so I got some stainless pipe that was the same diamater as the carb and raised my aircleaner up to the height I wanted it and it worked great and looks good.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

Similar but not quite..... the ones he is looking for go STRAIGHT up (like a piece of pipe, really) from the carburetor into the bottom of the dual carb scoop. He swears he saw them on the internet once, on a manufacturer's website, but he can't REMEMBER WHERE!! (argh)
